Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン Bishōjo Senshi Sērā Mūn)[1] is a tokusatsu television series based on the manga of the same name by Naoko Takeuchi and produced by Toei Company. It began broadcasting in Japan on Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting on October 4, 2003 until September 25, 2004, lasting 49 episodes. Two additional direct-to-video episodes of the series were released on DVD. The first, titled Special Act and released on November 25, 2004, takes place after the series. The second, a prequel released on March 25, 2005, is titled Act Zero.
